The initial inspiration to start the family project Bikes & Smiles occurred during the numerous bike rides by a Dutch father and his son through the streets of Barcelona. My family brought me accessories from The Netherlands and I was very surprised by the reactions of other parents when they saw us passing on the bike. They looked at each other, took photos and asked me how to get such a cool seat to carry their child on the front. What was most striking though, was how my son enjoyed those rides and how much fun we had. Buses, cars, motorbikes, trains, bicycles, all of that made his imagination fly and the afternoons with him became a wonderful experience. In this way, the bike went from being a practical (and green) means of transport to a pleasant and educational moment between father and son. 

That is why, thinking about those afternoons, we decided to create this company. We would like to share a bit of the Dutch culture - with more bicycles than people, considered to be at the forefront in terms of innovation, safety and quality - in order to do our bit to make the rides with your children a great experience too.
